We Made a Chair [& an Ottoman]
Another "Almost Nailed It" project was completed, but this one is a little different.
Craftsmanship wise, it's nowhere near what I believe I'm capable of, so why am I sharing it? Because it is one of my most special projects.
I recently heard that my 6 year old nephew, who is into engineering and construction of things, wanted to see how his uncle does his woodwork. The girls and I sprung into action and we setup a FaceTime call where one of them precariously held my iPad and tried to point the camera in the right direction. We took some random plywood and created a box.
From there, the girls helped me create 2 more "episodes" and we treated the rest of the project like a TV show. I created a quick mount to put my phone on a tripod and the girls made a sign. One became the camerawoman while the other was a director/producer and together they wrote a "script" to start each episode.
In the end, we whipped together 3 45 minutes "shows", letting my nephew watch as we worked and now we are surprising him with the box, which was shipped to him in NY yesterday along with instructions for him to finish the box with some paint.
Good news is that it was such a hit that the network has already ordered season 2 and we are currently scouting locations.
