For something that is designed to bring harmony, the assembly of this was anything but. My first iteration was a bit doomed from the start...since the first stretcher was a twisted board and I didn't notice. However, from that point on things came out all right.

The second iteration utilizes a nicer (read: more expensive) wood, which was straighter to begin with and made for a better final project; which is great since it was built to be a housewarming gift for some friends.

Both versions were stained at the same time, which is why you see two benches in the second image carousel.

(I'm really going to miss that little guy!)
